Cole Younger began his sales career while still attending Western Maryland College; where he sold real estate for a large regional firm and focused on the rapidly expanding Carroll County area.  Once out of college, Cole entered the life insurance business, selling for a Baltimore based insurance company.  He would spend his days in the "debit", the northeastern part of Baltimore City, collecting and selling life insurance, literally door-to-door.

"This early experience taught me the value of the one-on-one human interaction that is so important in sales.  The ability to instantly develop a relationship and foundation for communication is key to successful selling."

Cole's success in working the "debit" was quickly recognized when he was recruited to a general agency selling for a large national insurance firm.  Cole set the record (at that time) for earning his "management contract" the fastest in firm history.  This was a prospecting intensive sales position where cold calling to secure appointments was the key to success.

Next, Cole joined ADP Dealer Services as a software implementation specialist, where he implemented software and trained automobile dealership personnel on the process and use of Finance and Insurance, Accounting, Inventory, and Service systems.  Cole trained both in the classroom environment as well as onsite either in groups or with one-on-one coaching and consulting.  Cole continued to take on new challenges, including managing the largest implementations, developing a new position termed "project lead", and eventually becoming the first "Major Account Manager" in the country. 

This position was a blend of sales and service, and became the cornerstone of the company's "Major Accounts" program.  Cole progressed his sales career taking on new challenges on the way to becoming one of the most consistent performers in the company.  The experience included selling and managing territories of existing, competitive, Major, and National Accounts.  It was during this time that Cole joined the Sandler Training's President's Club.

"I joined the President's Club at the urging of my manager, Pam O'Neill.  When you have a degree of success, you might think it would be hard to improve.  Was I wrong!  After a couple of sessions I realized how lucky I had been to sell despite my mistakes.  Working through just a couple of things made all the difference."

Cole's further development led to a promotion to Director of Sales.  The assignment was managing one of the largest teams and financial assignments in the country.  Cole was very successful in meeting the challenges as well as developing his team members to take on new roles in the company.

"As a Director of Sales, I enjoyed coaching and developing my team members so they could achieve their goals.  I quickly realized that as long as they reached their goals, I would make my goals by default. I bring this same philosophy to Sandler Training."

In 2005 Cole brought his two decades of experience selling and training in the Real Estate, Insurance, and Technology fields to Sandler Training, opening Cole Younger Training & Development, LLC in Towson, MD.
